After listening to Moises Rodriguez play Asturias (Leyenda) on his guitar. I started this drawing on my digital tablet. What a joy to listen to Mo play live at Que Viva, our local Mexican restaurant! I edited the drawing in Photoshop while listening to Smooth by Carlos Santana. Should the piece be named Asturias or Smooth? Finally I decided on 7″ from the Midday Sun, a line from Smooth. I printed the digital image onto dupioni silk, added a backing and batting, and then quilted it by hand.
