This work started out as several wet-felted pieces that subsequently were cut up and reconfigured into a patchwork art quilt. The flatness of the quilt did not, however, convey the expression of moving water I was trying to achieve. Forming the quilt around a plastic plant holder gave it the three-dimensional look it needed and I am grateful that SAQA has broadened its definition of what an art quilt can be.
