Recycling has been in my blood since my old days at UC Berkeley, and I still like to haunt Urban Ore, the mothership of all used materials stores. A stack of battered multi-paned glass doors caught my eye, and I was instantly challenged to see if I could reproduce the texture and transparency in a quilt. Only after looking carefully at my photograph to start laying out the piece did I see my own reflection in the glass.
