Modernity Blues

This work contains a full array of blue values, tones, and temperatures in an abstract composition. It was inspired by my drawings and photographs of a contemporary local institution and an 18th century European palace. I was attempting to discover what range of emotional impact I could evoke using the power of blue, by tapping into its ability to both uplift the human spirit and to fill darkened spaces with foreboding.
