I wanted to make a simple visual statement. The word "fallen" implies more than branches down from trees; it also suggests lives ended. Like a gardener, I am trying to arrange my responses in neat piles. The strong vertical color streaks and the yellow-gold diagonal in the fabric act to pull the focus away from the delicate branches, like a brilliant sunny day does.
Cotton Sateen, cotton batt, polyester thread
One whole piece cotton is mono-printed with thickened dye. The branches are raw-edge reverse appliqud. It has a cotton batt and is machine quilted with a longarm.
