This piece is a series of monolithic forms, painted and printed with images of graffiti symbolizing today’s messaging and commemoration. They are manipulated to create interesting but not necessarily readable patterns, printed and overprinted, then cut up and collaged. With the use of black and grey for the ashes and reds for fire, the colors portray the chaos of today’s world. Unfortunately, they represent both natural disasters, like the fires exacerbated by climate change, and the fire, devastation, and disruption caused by hatred and war.
