Colors of Water

Water is everywhere in Michigan. I grew up swimming, fishing, skiing, and ice-skating on the freshwater lakes all around us. Each drop of rainwater creates a wonderful depression in any standing body of water, soon followed by a splash as the edges rise up in a counter-wave of motion. Bubbles, swirls, and waves surround the action. The clarity of water reflects every color around it; white clouds, blue skies, navy and green depths, and any other color imaginable, like a scarlet-orange sunset.
