SAQA members from around the world convened at QuiltCon 2019 held in Nashville, Tennessee this February.
QuiltCon is the annual show for the Modern Quilt Guild. The event features special exhibitions, vendors, lectures, workshops and its annual member’s show.
Many of SAQA members had work in the annual show.
SAQA always has a booth staffed by amazing volunteers. Thank you to Janet Marney, Arlene Blackburn, and all of our volunteers for making our booth such a success.
This year, our booth showcased many of our member’s artwork. Pieces shown here were created by Sandy Gregg, Cindy Grisdela, and Maria Shell.
We also shared one of our traveling Trunk Shows. Our Trunk Shows are educational exhibitions designed to celebrate art quilts in all of their many forms. We have eight trunks show with approximately 55 pieces of art in each show. Interested in having a SAQA Trunk Show visit your group or guild? You can do that by clicking here.
The booth gave SAQA members a place to connect while attending QuiltCon. It also gives show attendees an opportunity to learn first hand what SAQA is.
We welcomed 44 new members to our organization during the four day event.
It was fast and fun filled four days that ended too quickly.
