Friends of Fiber Art International to sponsor The Many Facets of Fiber

Friends of Fiber Art International is offering a rare opportunity to explore The Many Facets of Fiber. The event is sponsored in cooperation with Pima Community College Louis Carlos Bernal Gallery and PCC Fashion Design. The presentation features ten national and local artists displaying small-scale art and offering PowerPoint presentations of their work.

Featured artists include SAQA Juried Artist Member Regina Benson (CO), Monica Zavala Durazo (AZ), Carol Durham (CA), Susan Etcoff Fraerman (IL), Cindy Hickok (TX), Ann Keuper (AZ), Jeanmarie Nutt (AZ), Michael Rohde (CA), Carrie Seid (AZ) and Phyllis Thelen (CA). The presentation explores textile manipulations and surface design, weaving, embroidery, felting, beading and other fiber techniques including the use of raw plant fiber. Benson, Hickok, Rohde recently participated in the distinguished International Triennial in Łodz, Poland where every three years the most comprehensive survey of world-wide production of contemporary art in flexible materials and/or constructed using textile techniques is displayed.
