Artist Information for Jeannie Moore
I consider myself a mixed media fiber artist who reproduces representational and interpretive images from my photographs and drawings. Exploring new techniques and materials on a variety of surfaces can also define my work. Creating a painterly style with the addition of texture with fabric, paints, dyes, screens and stitch is what I love to do.
Transferring newspaper with gel medium to organza and designing thermofaxes and silkscreens are some techniques I use in my quilts. To accomplish a painterly style water-soluble crayons and pencils or Tsukineko inks are used. Silk tie transfer, shibori dyeing, stitched deli wrap paper and photos printed on fabric are some other processes applied in my quilts. All of these processes are instumental in creating the texture and strong graphic quality of my work.Images scroll down to view all
