Artist Information for Juliette Eckel
After studying Arts and Literature, she became a teacher of Literature in adult education. In the beginning of the 80th she started with traditional Patchwork as a hobby. In year 2000 she extended her quilting by adding techniques like dying and printing, machine embroidery and hand embroidery.
In 2008 she presented her textile cycle about the virgin mother, a touring exhibition, travelling through churches and monasteries. In these exhibitions are presented a combination of textile pictures of the virgin mother and ruminant texts (old and new prayers, poems…).
