Artist Information for Shelley Brucar
I have always loved looking at and touching fabrics, absolutely captivated by the colors and the textures of cloth. Now I have added paper, another type of fabric, to my work.
In creating my own fabric and paper, I dye, paint, monoprint and screen. I use image transfer, threads, beads mixed media and other surface design elements that the piece demands, going wherever the design takes me.
My work is inspired by nature - mountains, water and forests, landscapes and seascapes. I try to convey a sense of peace and serenity in my art, inviting the viewer to step into that moment.Images scroll down to view all
