Past Manifest

Join the International Quilt Museum for a panel discussion featuring Sarah Walcott, IQM Collections Manager, and Jamie Swartz, IQM Collections Assistant, in conversation with Addison Henshaw, Tucker Smith, and Milo Hintz, students at the Arts and Humanities Focus Program in Lincoln, Nebraska. Walcott and Swartz co-curated the exhibition “Feed Sacks: An American Fairy Tale.” Henshaw, Smith, and Hintz are featured artists in the companion exhibition “Past Manifest.” Both exhibitions are on display at the International Quilt Museum through July 27.

The panel will discuss the historic and contemporary relevance of textile reuse in pragmatic and artistic practice. The students will offer insights into their creative processes and share their experiences with sustainability and environmental consciousness.

Textile Talks features weekly presentations and panel discussions from the International Quilt Museum, Quilt Alliance, Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), and Surface Design Association. The programs are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.
