Quilt National Then and Now, presented by International Quilt Museum and Dairy Barn Arts Center

Online Event
2-3 pm EDT (GMT/UTC -4)

A distinguished group of individuals will discuss the creation and growth of the Quilt National exhibition and new directions going forward. Marvin Fletcher will present a timeline of the Quilt National exhibition and discuss its importance in the development of the studio art genre. Gul LaPorte will chat with artist Linda Colsh about her quilts and new approaches she is incorporating in her work. Linda has been juried into Quilt National numerous times. Gul will also speak to artist Carolyn Mazloomi, who will judge the 2023 Quilt National exhibition. LaPorte and Mazloomi will also discuss the new Quilt National committee and its direction going forward. Coincidentally, both of these artists have work in SAQA’s Layered and Stitched exhibition at the Dairy Barn, which just opened May 28th.
