Pods - Future Promise

The recent Marshall fire that destroyed parts of Superior and Louisville, Colorado, has emotionally devastated those directly involved but also the rest of us living in surrounding communities. Coupled with the harrowing loss of health and life associated with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, citizens of Boulder County and beyond are weary and dispirited. Pods - Future Promise is a gallery show based on the idea of nature renewing itself through plants’ seed pods. After forming, protecting, and supporting their delicate seeds, plants somehow know how and when to release them into the air to find purchase in soil and to grow and flourish. Many flowering plants’ unique, fascinating, and often beautiful seed pods, then, hold the possibility of new life and so embody the concepts of hope, rebirth, and the future. The exhibit includes 3-D and 2-D fabric-based artwork based on interpretations of a wide variety of seeds and seed pods. Their work includes abstract and sometimes whimsical pieces that will appeal to gallery viewers for their beauty and imagination.
