Theme: We invite quilt artists in the Washington region to interpret COLOR as they use it. For the artist and the viewer, color is an essential part of the art. However, color bears often a hidden message, certainly the full spectrum of emotions and has enormous impact on human reception or memory. It often elicits an emotional response in the viewer. Sometimes, even the deliberate absence of color where one would expect color, or by a faded, muted color scheme can create this response.
Earlier this year, SAQA Seminar Color explored and explained many aspects of color (recordings are available to members on the SAQA website).
Eligibility: All current SAQA members of Washington State. If Washington is your Second Region, you are welcome to enter.
Venue: Pacific Northwest Quilt & Fiber Arts Museum, La Conner, WA
Not Juried (Showcase) Entry Fee:$35 for up to 2 entries
