Enjoy five days of fibre artmaking workshops from July 25th to 29th at the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning.
Instructor Bethany Garner will teach students a variety of techniques on fabric, including the following:
Monday: Flat Dyeing Cloth
Tuesday: Mark Making & Printing
Wednesday: Natural Dyes, rust dyeing and eco-printing
Thursday: Use of embellishing machine sewing
Friday: Create an art quilt
By the end of the retreat, each student will have created a finished piece of artwork that will incorporate the skills learned during the retreat.
A supplies list will be provided to all registered students once their seats are confirmed. The use of a needle and thread and, if possible, sewing machines that you will bring to class are, while not required, very helpful as starting points for success.
