The exhibition Imagination: 1 x 4 will present a selection of 50 new contemporary art quilts created by artist members of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) from the Maryland, Washington, DC, West Virginia, Virginia and North Carolina regions. Each participating fiber artist was responding to an invitation to use their imagination as the door through which to escape the physical constraints of reality with the only requirement being to create an art quilt in a format measuring 1 foot wide by 4 feet high. The display of unique and original art quilts have been selected by juror Maggie Vanderweit, an internationally recognized quilter and SAQA board member. The exhibition features both traditional and experimental materials and textile techniques which include hand dying, surface design, piecing, machine and hand quilting, sewing and embroidery.

Join the artists and juror from Imagination: 1x4 at this virtual artist reception hosted by BlackRock Center for the Arts. Maggie Vanderweit, the exhibition juror will be speaking.
This reception will take place on the Zoom platform. Anyone can attend but preregistration is required.
