Al margen de las artes, is a presentation about two Colombian embroiderers, Flor Tapia and Blanca Nubia Díaz. Two women over seventy years old, who have achieved technical mastery in the art of embroidery, without having gone through the educational system.
In the first case, Paola will show how embroidery is a medium that allows us to question our sense of sensory perception. In the second, through a member of the collective of False Positives Mothers, MAFAPO, Paola will present the relationship between embroidery, memory making, and demanding justice, within the context of forced disappearances in Colombia.
