Chocolates and joyous digital colour, climate change and nature's abstract artistry are among the subjects which have inspired members of Contemporary Quilters West in their latest outpouring of new work. This will be the fourth in the group's successful series of biennial exhibitions entitled Unfolding Stories.
Members each make their own journey and tell their own story but enjoy sharing the group dynamic. Dark themes and bright celebrations will be vying for attention along with a host of techniques and materials, from hand stitch to digital print. Textile creations investigate the use of child labour in chocolate production, coming to terms with widowhood, the contortions we make in order to fit in and the glories of nature as well as the threats to it.
