February 19, 2020 - March 28, 2020
More Info

Starting with the shooting at Columbine High School on April 20, 1999, Julie made a block with the name of each victim of the shootings in which more than ten people died at once, using the state flag of the shooting location as her design inspiration. She sewed the blocks together to create one quilt for each massacre. To date, she has made 343 blocks in 16 quilts. This exhibit includes all 16 quilts, as well as “Bullet Holes,” in which 862 holes represent victims of mass shooting events large and small from 1990 to 2019, and “In Our Sights,” which includes pages from The New York Times covering the shooting in Las Vegas in 2017.
