If Walls Could Talk -  Visions Art Museum  •   San Diego, California

Hilde Van de Walle Morin was born in Caracas, Venezuela and now resides in Portland, OR. Of Belgian descent, she embodies the intersections and internationalism that is evident in her work. She has exhibited at venues around the globe, including Sculptured Objects and Functional Art (SOFA) Chicago and New York; the Museum of the Americas in Florida; Galería Exágono in México; Centro Integral de Arte Textil CIART in Argentina; the Museum of Contemporary Craft in Oregon; and the Oregon Historical Society Museum.

A highly sought after teacher, Hilde teaches at her own studio and in locations outside Portland. She is an acknowledged leader in the field, with her works featured in numerous publications, including SAQA Art Quilt Quarterly, 1000 Quilt Inspirations, Quilting Arts Magazine, Oregon Home, and The Quilting Quarterly.

She has also received numerous awards from a range of organizations including the Surface Design Association, The Museum of The Americas, Infinity Art Gallery, Interstate Firehouse Cultural Center, Multnomah Village, Lastres Gallery 7126, and the Montgomery County Fair (MD).


Morin is a member of the Columbia FiberArts Guild, the Surface Design Association, Material In eXtreme, and Visions Art Museum. She is also a Juried Artist Member of the Studio Art Quilt Associates.
