The daughter of an artist, I grew up at art shows and with artwork and artists in our home. As an adult, I’ve worked nearly 30 years in design, 18 of them as a university faculty member in a department of art and design. While I started with a couple of traditional quilts, I began making art quilts 18 years ago. I must admit I cannot follow a pattern! Art quilts gave me the outlet for my unique voice. Since then I’ve learned many new techniques through workshops and my own experimentation. My work today reflects my personal interest in the importance of place and in-person/environment relationships.
