Bio
I bring my background in painting and drawing to the discipline of art quilting. I am passionate about instilling an inner life to my subjects, both animate and inanimate, helping the viewer to see the ‘soul’ of the things around us.
My images are an amalgam of the reference image – often my own photographs – modified by what I see in my mind’s eye and tempered by the materials at hand. My quilter’s ‘stash’ includes a 20 years collection of commercial fabrics, and I selectively use paints, dyes, fabric manipulation, yarns and threads, and other familiar objects to enhance the viewer’s experience.
