Workshops:
Art Quilt Basics 2 days Beginners & intermediate Have you wanted to create a contemporary art quilt but didn't know where to start? This workshop introduces you to three main components- colour, design and stitch. This is a very popular class encouraging individual design, assisted by the tutor.
Wholly Holes and Other Explorations 2 days Suitable for those familiar with free motion stitching A class for the adventurous as we chart new territory and create fabric, machine stitched from holes, on a soluble base, rub objects with oil sticks, print and use angelina fibres and paint in our work. Small pieces are worked on and there is an opportunity to design a larger piece. A class to explore and play with paint, thread and machine quilting. Materials fee applies.
Leaf It Alone 1 day Suitable for beginners & intermediate
Let nature provide the inspiration for our fabric printing. Using various
leaves from your local area and textile paint we will experiment and print
onto our base fabric creating individual cloth. Students will learn a simple
printing technique with enormous potential. A pattern is given to make a
small quilt approximately 60cm W x 45cm L [24in W x 18in L]. Class samples
show individual leaf prints but multiple colours and leaf types can be
printed together. Fabric kit available for purchase but not mandatory.
Dogs Down 1 day Beginners and anyone wanting to go beyond just stippling
Contrary to the title this workshop is not about dog obedience! DOGS DOWN is an introductory class designed for anyone wanting to learn the secrets of
innovative free-motion quilting. Get started with free motion quilting
[without a walking foot] and open the door of possibilities. Enjoy greater
creative use of a basic sewing machine for quilting, textile art or
garments. Machine writing is also covered.
Bag Envy 2 days Beginners & intermediate Approximately 44cmW x 35cmL

create an unique bag, large enough for Guild meeting necessities. After this
workshop get ready to be the envy of your friends!
