The event is happening in Birmingham, England from August 9 – 12, 2018 and SAQA and its members are participating in the Festival in a variety of ways.
According to the Festival of Quilts website, “The Festival of Quilts is Europe’s leading patchwork and quilting event attracting 24,000 quilters from all over the world. The show is a celebration of quilting in all its forms, with over 300 exhibitors offering essential supplies, professionally curated galleries of quilts from leading international makers, 350 workshops, talks and demos plus a magnificent display of over 700 competition quilts. It is the ultimate patchwork and quilting experience.”

Fly Me to the Moon curated by SAQA member Susanne Jones and juried by former SAQA President Lisa Ellis will be on display. The exhibition explores all things about the moon—from the landing, to the mystery, to the reality.
Many of our members are part of the prestigious exhibition Fine Art Quilt Masters. The winner of this exclusive competition will be announced on the opening day of the show.

Fine Line Magic—Demo
SAQA JAM Alicia Merrett – Sunday, August 12 3PM
Merrett will demonstrate a very easy way of inserting fine lines into fabrics by a piecing method. According to Merrett, “fine lines allow creative play with colour and contrast, and can be used as part of many different kinds of quilts.”
