Jack in the Pulpit - Frieda AndersonJack in the Pulpit
Frieda Anderson

Every day, I walk my dog in a little 22 acre woods near my home. Jack in the Pulpits pop up in the late spring and I make a game of hunting them out in their hiding places. The “jack” and background light rectangle are satin charmeuse, the blue background is batik.

Paisleyfish - Tanya BrownPaisleyfish
Tanya Brown

The piece provides a glimpse of that little-known denizen of the deep, the paisleyfish. The artist's preoccupation with paisley–shaped fish is a result of childhood trauma induced by wearing garish hand-me-down clothes from the 1960's. Heavily stitched, whimsical, bright.

Blustery Day - Shelley BrucarBlustery Day
Shelley Brucar

Blustery Day was created after watching leaves floating on water. The gusty winds transformed what is usually a very tranquil scene into bustle and excitement. Rich blues/greens/oranges. Hand-dyed/painted.
