Meet Your Representative Carolina Fuchssteiner
I am originally from Caracas, Venezuela. I have a Bachelors in Science degree in Chemistry/Mathematics from Eastern Michigan University.
I learned to sew and embroidery when I was a child in Elementary school and did not enjoyed it. Later in life, I moved with my family to the United States, first to South Florida and 3 years later to Georgia, where we currently live. Here I discovered quilts and fell in love with them.
My biggest challenge is that I have no art education but my love to learn and research has taught me a lot, and everyday I learn something new. Coming from a science background I love dyeing my own fabrics and using them in my quilts. My favorite subject is making quilts from photos taking during our family vacations.
I have being quilting for the last 10 years, began with traditional quilting, little by little I became more involve and purchased a longarm quilting machine. Now I am focusing in artquilts and learning about this amazing field. The next step will be quilting the artquilts with the longarm.
This journey has been a great experience and loved every minute of it, I hope to continue for several more years adding more tools to my belt. When I am quilting I am in my happy place.
