Artists sometimes leave their work untitled. But as a writer, I appreciate a well-chosen title that lends a new or additional layer of meaning. A title may allude to a well-known  work as Susan Brubaker Knapp does with "Hope Is the Thing." By referencing Emily Dickenson's poem, the viewer takes away greater meaning. Other titles ask the viewer to pause and consider a question or concern, while others are plays on words or just plain humorous.
