Dialogue 2 - Charlotte Yde

The works in this series are mainly influenced by all the remains that still can be seen in museums and sites from past cultures. As a Scandinavian and a European, I feel closely connected to both the Scandinavian culture, and the classical Greek and Roman culture that a lot of our culture is based upon. I have always had a great fondness of for the abundance of fabric and folds. Many of the old Greek and Roman statues depict folded textiles in a magnificent way.

I also somehow believe that creating my stories through my hands connects me to other cultures, places and times. The quilts are mainly made of my own dyed and printed fabrics combined with digitally programmed stitching.
