Passage of Time: Braunschweig 3

Passage of Time: Braunschweig 324" x 18"

Architecture informs my work. Fragmented architectural elements, use of line and scale create depth and ambiguity. The combination of graphic and realistic elements lends itself to the humanity of perseverance and standing the test of time. Architecture is a conversation between the past and the future; the one component that has the power to connect generations. The images used in this series are photos of structures, buildings and walls throughout Germany, particularly Braunschweig, Germany. Walking through the historic towns allows me to make a connection to what had taken place before. My camera is my vehicle that captures the pieces of these incredible sculptures. The dialog of design starts with the camera and expands with the use of cloth and thread. Recognizing the powerful connection that architecture provides between the past and the future gives us an insight into the future.
