Walk in the Forest 31 x 54 inches (78cm x 136cm)
I am drawn to nature for my inspiration. Using a different technique than I usually use in my black and white forest scenes I wanted to create colour and movement in the forest. This piece is made from 100% commercial and hand dyed cotton fabric, machine stitched, 100% cotton batt and mounted on acid free foam core on a wood frame.
Fractured Landscape Topography 23 x 25 inches (59cm x 65cm)
This landscape was created in a class with Katie PM. Most of the fabrics are hand or ice dyed by me. With its bold and rich colours, this piece was inspired by a aerial view landscape.
Autumn Trees Along the Rapids 39 x 40 inches (98cm x 100cm)
The inspiration for this piece was a photograph by JoAnne Gauci. I have visited this place along the river from several angles and each time the reveal shows a different perspective. I used my hand dyed and commercial cotton fabric, cotton and polyester threads, silk roving, Hobbs 100% cotton batt, mounted on a wood frame with acid free foam core.
Mold Spores Trip Tych 23 x 43 inches ( 57cm x 108cm)
This piece was inspired by a picture of actual mold spores. The cellular structure was fun to create as was the intense thread play. I used my hand dyed cotton fabric, cotton and polyester threads, Hobbs 100% cotton batt, mounted on a wood frame with acid free foam core.
