If your favorite quilt could talk, what would it say? In a world of volatile social media platforms and endless scrolling, how do we make sure the stories behind our quilts survive?
For more than 25 years, Quilters' Save Our Stories (QSOS) has been preserving the voices of quiltmakers through recorded oral history interviews. These stories aren't buried in a feed, they're archived for future generations, ensuring that the makers remain connected to their work and their place in history.
Join Quilt Alliance QSOS Program Manager, Emma Parker, and Interim Executive Director, Nellie Wu, for a special Textile Talk exploring this remarkable project and why it matters now more than ever.
Textile Talks features weekly presentations and panel discussions from the International Quilt Museum, Quilt Alliance, Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA), and Surface Design Association. The programs are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.
