Join us on September 2 at 2PM EDT as we revisit our presentation Quilts That Speak: What History Has Buried with author Phyllis Biffle-Elmore. Writer of Quilt of Souls: A Memoir, Phyllis will share more from her grandmother who was a master quilter. Made from the clothing of deceased family members, friends, and neighbors, each of the quilts Grandmother Lula made held the stories of lives lived. Phyllis encourages us to reflect upon our own Quilt of Souls and challenges us to remember the history of quilting and the power embodied in these lives and objects.
Textile Talks features weekly presentations and panel discussions from the International Quilt Museum, Quilt Alliance, Studio Art Quilt Associates, and Surface Design Association. The programs are held online at 2 p.m. Eastern (11 a.m. Pacific) each Wednesday.
