As part of the New Mexico Fiber Crawl, the Open Space Visitor Center (OSVC) in Albuquerque, and the Española Valley Fiber Arts Center (EVFAC) are hosting "Water," a juried exhibit representing the vast array of fiber arts found throughout the state of New Mexico. Also, featured in the kids activity room of the Visitor Center is EVFAC's beautiful exhibit of natural dyes and a display of Navajo-Churro wool.
The state of New Mexico has a vast wealth of textile traditions which have been assimilated and have evolved from many diverse cultures throughout time. These traditions are well steeped into the textile arts of this state which has an extensive cultural history.The exhibit is included in the New Mexico Fiber Crawl that runs from May 18 - May 20, 2018 and includes exhibits, demonstrations, and interaction with artists from around the state. Places included in this statewide event: Tierra Amarilla, Taos, Española, Los Alamos (including Jemez Springs), Santa Fe, and Albuquerque.Venue Info:
