Come join the fun for a jam-packed day of presentations and opportunities to connect, converse and expand your artistic knowledge on Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Eugene, Oregon.
Keynote Speaker, Pat Pauly (patpauly.com), a sought-after lecturer and teacher in contemporary fiber arts, will present "Challenge Yourself: Unpredictable Outcomes from Obtuse Ideas" with over 350 images showcasing how she embraces a challenge, sees a design decision and comes up with a solution no else would think to make.
Pat Pauly will also be teaching her one-day workshop A Dozen Ways: Design Ideas for Art Quilts on October 19 (separate registration required).
A panel of three local artists of various media will discuss the challenges of design when you hit an "Oops." A gallery curator will entertain us with "Curatorial Conundrums." The afternoon will be filled with conversations about Mentoring, becoming a Juried Artist Member, and Entering Juried Shows. How can you resist?
AND…All registered participants are encouraged to create a 12" x 12" Conference Showcase piece that will be on display during the Conference and at a local gallery through November.
The conference will be held at the Center for Meeting and Learning at Lane Community College in Eugene, Oregon from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Registration fee, which includes a catered lunch, is $80 for SAQA members; $90 for non-members.
