Workshop Type: Fiber/Handmade paper watermark
Instructors: Artists in Residence, Michelle Willson & Anne Beck

In this workshop, participants will learn the almost magical technique of creating a watermark on a sheet of handmade paper. A watermark is a secret image on a sheet of paper that is invisible until it is held up to the light. Participants will use Xacto knives to cut a simple design that will be the basis for their watermark. Following this, they will learn to pull sheets from a vat of wet paper pulp. When dry, these papers can be beautifully displayed in a window or other light source, framed, or even incorporated into some form of mixed media art!
