Join NIU’s Pick Museum of Anthropology from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 5 for the opening reception of its newest exhibition, “Quilts and Human Rights.” This exhibition features social justice quilts from around the world that raise awareness of global social issues. The opening reception will feature remarks from the Reverend Jesse Jackson, Sr. and will also feature an activist quilt block making workshop led by Sara Trail, Founder of @sjsacademy. All of the blocks made at the opening will be sewn together and become a community social justice quilt – but no previous sewing experience is needed to make your quilt block! Hope to see you there.
