SAQA Under the Western Sun & Buffalo Bill Exhibit Quilting the Wild West -  Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum  •   Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum

SAQA's regional juried challenge featuring Western quilt art by Western artists. Where an artist lives impacts the voice with which they speak, here in the West we experience extremes of climate and altitude; intense color and light, unusual landscapes and plants; unique people and cultures.  These all influence the work we do Under the Western Sun.    Juror: Patty Kennedy-Zafred Curators:   Barbara Beasley ( & Bev Haring ( ------ QUILTING THE WILD WEST is an open invitation to all quilters and fiber artists to create a quilt commemorating Buffalo Bill Cody and the Wild West. Theme: Entries must be quilts that relate to the theme of Quilting the Wild West and/or Buffalo Bill Cody. Western-themed quilts can include cowboys, cowgirls, Native Americans, horses, cows, rodeo, gold mining, frontier architecture, Old West history, etc. are some things that could be included in the quilt. Juror: Steve Friesen: the Executive Director of the Buffalo Bill Museum. The Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave, owned and operated by the City and County of Denver, exists to preserve the memory of William F. “Buffalo Bill” Cody.
