This quilt, showing some of the eruptions taking place at the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii, is made of fused machine applique of cotton batiks and satin fabrics. Thread painting and free motion quilting accents are machine stitched using rayon and monofilament threads. Wool batting is used and the binding is made from a fiery looking glittered red cotton.
