Sightlines Information for Venues

Studio Art Quilt Associates, Inc. (SAQA) presents our newest exhibition, Sightlines premiering in November 2010. This exhibit explores a unique conversation between and among some of the most provocative fiber artists working in the field today. This conversation is represented by a sightline that runs through the entire exhibition, inviting viewers to engage with each artwork in turn and then follow the thread of conversation. Please consider hosting this special exhibition between December 2010 and December 2014.

The art quilt is an emerging art form that paints with thread and sculpts with fabric, pushing the boundaries of fine art with new materials, techniques, and interpretations. Sightlines is an opportunity to provide a provocative and stimulating museum experience for your members and to reach a much wider audience. SAQA exhibitions routinely draw enthusiastic crowds and bring increased revenues and press coverage for the museums that host them.

Sightlines is an invitational exhibition from 14 world renowned artists from Australia, Belgium, Canada, Germany, Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United states. It showcases a diversity of styles, methods, and processes being explored by professional artist members around the world. SAQA members who live in your area can provide educational docent training, workshops, and lectures to support the exhibition’s run.
